Hello, hello!

I know the blog is completely boring right now, but I'll spruce it up later.

I suppose an introduction is appropriate. For those of you who aren't aware, my name is Christine. I am a recently-engaged 20 year old mother. My son, Liam, is 13 months old.

My fiance and I are by no means planning on a big, fabulous affair of a wedding. In fact, the both of us nearly threw up when I picked up a copy of Modern Bride magazine and read that $8,000 dollars is considered a wedding on a "budget"!! Um... if that budget belongs to Paris Hilton, then maybe it's chump change. But for a couple of "kids" in the suburbs of South Carolina (is it just me, or does "suburbs" sound very strange next to "South Carolina"??), it's... well, it's a little rich for our blood.

So I'm inviting you all to join me as we frantically put together a wedding (oh yeah, did I mention we have 6 months and counting to plan??) for under $1.5k... Key word here is UNDER. As in, below. As in, no way in Hades are we going to pay 1500 bucks to tie the knot. As much as we'd love some big, beautiful, expensive shindig... we wouldn't "love" to pay for it.

As for me, I'm totally clueless. I don't know the first - or last - thing about weddings. All I know, is I want to stand next to my soon-to-be husband in a white dress and say "I do" in front of all the people we care about. I want the day to be something that we, and everyone around us as well, remember forever as one of the most beautiful days of our lives.
